Wire and Bead Jewelry Artist
Wire, as a jewelry design medium, has been on my mind ever since my days in summer camp when the arts and crafts counselor handed me a spool of copper wire, a pair of pliers and cutters and challenged me to create.
In my adult life there were occasional workshops and jewelry making classes, but it wasnít until my retirement in 2010 that I was able to marshal time and effort to study and create on a regular basis.
Much of what I do today began during three years of classes at the Newark Museum, where I had the opportunity to learn and explore various techniques and media. Magazine articles, books, videos, friends and other workshops have all augmented my design and jewelry making education.
We converted our laundry room into my workshop/studio about 4 years ago, and now I spend many happy hours there designing, experimenting, creating and generally having fun playing with wire and beads. I welcome this opportunity for you to see my work.
