Artist Studio Tour 2012
Rebel Yarns A Community Art Action
Past Tour Exhibitor
We are a local group of fiber enthusiasts who come together to yarnstorm. We believe in the community that our art form creates as well as the lasting memories that it inspires.
Yarn bombing, graffiti knitting or yarnstorming is a type of graffiti or street art that employs colorful displays of knitted or crocheted cloth rather than paint or chalk. While yarn installations – called yarn bombs or knit bombs – may last for years, they are considered non-permanent, and, unlike graffiti, can be easily removed if necessary.
Because of the group nature of the work as well as the organic growth of each piece, we welcome you and your family to join us on the day of the Tour. We will be available to teach knitting or crochet skills to those who would like to learn. Or if you prefer, just stop by to add your finished piece to our work.
This years theme is orange a color of optimism and happiness. We hope to cover Spiotta park in this joyous color while creating a broader sense of community and passing on knitting and crochet techniques to those who would like to learn.
